A Lovely Day for a Guinness

I had fished the Rose River today.  It was mostly overcast all day.  I fished from about 9:00am to 3:30pm today and caught 20 fish.  3 or 4 were about 6 inches and 2 were somewhere between 8 and 9 inches.  All the rest were small ones.  I had fished with a dry fly and a drop nymph below it all day.  I had about half on dry and the other half on nymph.  There was a lot of bugs on the water and in the air of all sizes.  I never did see a hatch because the sun never came out.  The water was at a nice flow as well after rain we had last night and about a week ago.  It should only get better from here on out.

In the SNP park is the best place to find fish on the Rose.  Just follow the road till it comes to a dead end and that is the park boundery.  You can hike up the trail till you come to the river and start fishing.  There are fish all the way up that mountain.  You can also pay to fish at the Rose River Farm.  I have heard that they have some very big rainbows there that they catch on Drys all year long.
